The first day of the Memorial Day Weekend was fairly warm with highs in the 80s to around 90. Dewpoints were rather low today, so the warm temperatures didn’t lead to any uncomfortable heat indices. Sunday will see slightly higher dewpoints along with readings again in the 80s, heat indices may approach or exceed 90 tomorrow afternoon as a cold front moves into the western part of the state. Rain chances will increase in the western third of the state by the afternoon hours, central third around the evening hours and the eastern third after sunset and will last for a 12 hour period. Memorial Day itself will see cooler temperatures (back into the 70s to low 80s) and drier air moving back in. The next chance of rain after Sunday night into early Monday will be late on Tuesday into Wednesday.
