Strong Storms over Eastern Iowa

Numerous showers and strong thunderstorms have been meandering over the eastern third of the state this morning into the early afternoon. Some of these storms have dumped a lot of rain in some localized areas. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 7:15pm this evening for Dubuque County where 2-3 inches of rain has fallen in and around the Dubuque Metro.

Most of the strong storms now are in Jackson, Clinton and Scott counties along the Mississippi River with some lighter showers across NE Iowa and near Mt. Pleasant in SE Iowa. More redevelopment is possible with some of the thunderstorms possibly producing hail up to quarter sized and winds up to 70mph along with the threat of heavy rain.
