Happy Labor Day!
Most of Iowa enjoyed a warm and dry day, for the exception of North-East Iowa where isolated Thunderstorms were found. Active weather is set to return as our Labor Day weekend comes to a close.
TUESDAY
We will start to see the return of storms as soon as tomorrow.
The main area that will see storms tomorrow during the day will be North-West Iowa, South-Central Minnesota, and Central Wisconsin.
The Storm Prediction Center also has these areas outlined in a slight risk of severe weather. We currently do not expect a lot of severe weather tomorrow, however if any does develop the primary risk would be strong winds. Heavy rain will also be a concern with any storm that may develop.
Thunderstorms will start to be a better possibility statewide as we get into the evening and overnight Tuesday.
WEDNESDAY
A better chance of storms comes Wednesday.
The first round will be from the leftovers of Tuesday overnight, with another round developing in the afternoon and lingering into the evening.
It appears at this time that the risk of severe storms Wednesday looks low. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Iowa under a marginal risk of severe weather for Wednesday. However be sure to check back because this may change as we get closer to Wednesday.
Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day, and have a fantastic rest of the week!
