Hot and Humid Once Again at the Fair

Another hot and humid day is in store those headed out to the State Fair on Thursday. Cool temperatures early will quickly warm up into the low-90s by late afternoon underneath Partly Cloudy skies. When combined with dew points nearing 70°, feels like temperatures will be approaching 100° at times. The wind should be of some relief out of the south-to-southwest at 10-15 MPH in the late afternoon, around the peak of the heat. So, all-in-all for classic State Fair weather, this will not be bad whatsoever.

A more active weather pattern comes into play by Friday as a cold front sweeps through the state. Ahead of this front will be shower and thunderstorm chances by afternoon. The morning at the fair should be okay but storm chances increase quickly by afternoon. Severe weather is possible but not expected to be too great. Strong-to-severe damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rain are the primary concerns with some of the cells. This rain will continue into the early morning hours on Saturday, alongside cooler temperatures behind the front. Temperatures this weekend are only expected to be in the mid-70s, below normal for this time of year. Sunday will not be bad for a final day at the fair with Mostly Sunny skies and the cool temperatures aforementioned.

Have a great Thursday!
