Storms and Cooler Weather

Showers and thunderstorms are moving into the western part of the state this afternoon along with cooler temperatures that will last for the upcoming weekend and next week. Severe weather is not expected with any of these storms and rainfall amounts will be light with many locations receiving a quarter inch or less. The winds will switch to the NW later tonight as the front moves through and temperatures will return to more seasonal readings for Mid-April with highs ion the 60s to around 70 and nighttime lows in the 30s and lower 40s.

Before the storms arrive, strong gusty southwesterly winds will continue throughout the eastern 2/3rds of the state. Temps today will be in the 80s but no records are likely to be broken today.
