Sunny and Nice

A SHORT BREAK: We’ll have a short break of storm activity to end the week before it returns for the weekend. Today and Friday will be partly to mostly sunny across the state with readings in the 70s and 80s for highs. Humidity levels will be a bit lower as well. Lows at night will be in the 50s to lower and middle 60s.

RAIN RETURNS: As we head into the weekend as mentioned before, shower and thunderstorm chances look to return as well. This will not be all day events as most of the precipitation looks to fall during the overnight into the morning hours with most of the rest of the daylight hours being mainly dry. However we can’t rule out any activity developing during the late afternoon and evening hours as well. Highs this weekend will be in the upper 70s through the 80s with an increase in the humidity levels.

NEXT WEEK: High pressure noses into the state early in the week before warmer air comes toward the end of the week. In between there looks to be a chance of some showers and storms as well. Highs will start out in the upper 70s through the middle 80s with readings inching up toward the 90s by the middle to end of next week. Looking beyond through the rest of the period, the GFS looks to keep the ridge around the area through the period with some cooler air missing the state to the northeast and keeping the area mainly dry and hot. Of course this could change in coming model runs, however the heat wave at the end of next week we’re fairly confident in that, just not the longevity of it.
