IN A STANLEY STEAMER OR SAUNA: It will be very uncomfortable to be outside today and Saturday with readings well into the 90s and heat indices approaching or exceeding 100 in places. It will be mainly sunny with some haze during the day across the state today into Saturday, but as we look at night time, the weather looks to be a bit active, however we aren’t sure where the activity will be. There is likely to be a complex of showers and storms developing during the late afternoon or early evening hours to our north and northwest. This may skim the northern and northeastern counties with some rain, however it could stay north of the state or come further into the state. A similar set up could take place again Saturday night into Sunday as well. Looking through next week, the chances of showers and storms increases with a system approaching from the west. At this time, most of the precipitation chances look to take place during the night, but we can’t rule out any activity during the day especially as we get toward Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Readings will drop back into the 80s at least as we head into the early part of next week. Humidity levels look to remain high however.

LATE NEXT WEEK: The weather pattern looks to dry out as we head into late next week with readings back into the middle 70s to lower 80s across the state. It will be a bit drier but not by a whole lot. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny for the most part with dew points a bit lower. The GFS does want to bring more moisture back into the state toward the following weekend but this will have to be watched for any trends.

FURTHER ALONG: Nothing set in stone at this time with regards to the extended period. The main storm track is shown to be near or just north of the state with some chances of showers and storms from time to time. Timing those out this far in advance is difficult and any possible ridges that may develop and strengthen could push the track further north. We’ll monitor for developments.
