Don’t You Rescue Me, Never Set Me Free From This Weather!

STAYING QUIET: The weather continues to remain relatively quiet across the state with partly to mostly sunny skies seen through Sunday. The GFS still has a slight chance of some precipitation on Friday and whereas the chance isn’t zero, any rain would be widely scattered if at all. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s through the weekend with the warmest readings coming this weekend ahead of the next series of systems coming into the state next week.

THE SERIES OF SYSTEMS: The first in what looks to be a series of systems looks to move into the state late Sunday night into Monday with chances of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could become strong to possibly severe, however this could still change in the coming days. This first system will move through and depart the state late on Tuesday in time for the next disturbance to come in from the south and west by Wednesday morning. This one according to this model run will be slow to move in and slow to move out of the state. This may last into the Memorial Day weekend holiday (although that is still up for debate) as models have been suggesting over the last few days. We’ll keep monitoring for any changes though. Temperatures during the period will be in the 70s and lower to middle 80s (if we see a bit of sunshine between the chances of precipitation), but Thursday and Friday, the models are keeping the temperatures a bit cooler due to cloudiness and rain for quite a bit of the day (this may change in coming runs as well).

JUNE BOON: Looking toward June, the weather pattern becomes a bit less active however the chances of rainfall don’t really drop to zero. Temperatures are shown to be relatively close to seasonal levels in the middle to upper 70s across the state. Toward the end of the period, the GFS has a high pressure nosing in from the north and northeast that would cool readings into the upper 60s and dry us out. Still somewhat skeptical with this, but we’ll watch for any trend on this over the next week or so.
