Multiple severe weather threats will begin next week, beginning tomorrow across the Rockies and eventually propagating eastward along several shortwaves. The first severe threat will be to the west of Iowa in the central Plains, where a marginal risk of severe weather will be possible. Isolated reports of hail, wind, and perhaps a tornado or two will be possible here. The threats are only on the upturn from there with an elevated risk of severe weather for much of the Middle Mississippi Valley region Sunday. A better threat of large hail, damaging winds, and a heightened tornado threat is expected here.
The peak of these shortwaves will occur Tuesday where an enhanced risk has been in place across the southern Plains for several days now. A classic severe weather setup will be at play there with the risk for very large hail, damaging winds, and several long-track and violent tornadoes not out of the question.
And, yet again Wednesday, another elevated risk exists to the east across eastern Iowa and Illinois to Texas. With events these far out, more inpredictability exists.
A full updates will be available later tonight, so stay tuned for the latest!
