UNSETTLED: Showers will be possible both today and tomorrow across the state from two separate disturbances moving through. The first one will bring continued shower activity through the day before tapering off as we head into the evening hours. Skies will not clear however as the next disturbance moves in Thursday with another chance of some rain at that time. Some of the precipitation late tonight could mix with a little snow or sleet in our northeastern counties. This may also happen again Thursday night with the second disturbance as well. Any wintry weather should not cause any travel issues. Highs today will be in the upper 40s through the 50s with readings on Thursday in the 40s to lower 50s. Friday will see some lingering activity in our northeastern counties with some peaks of sunshine further to the west. It will be similar in temperature to Thursday with 40s in the northern and eastern counties to the lower and middle 50s in the western counties. It will be breezy today through Friday as well with winds of 15-25mph with gusting to and over 40mph out of the northwest.

THE WEEKEND: The state will be split on Saturday as the cooler air will be entrenched in our eastern counties while the west will we very warm. Highs will range from the lower and middle 40s in our northeastern counties to the middle 50s near the Missouri River. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny on Saturday. Winds will turn around out of the south on Sunday which will warm readings into the lower and middle 50s in the northeastern counties to near 70 in the southwest. It will be quite breezy as well and there will be a chance of some showers and thunderstorms as well with a system coming into the state. Severe weather doesn’t look likely with this system but we’ll watch for any changes in the coming days.

NEXT WEEK: Rain looks to linger into Monday as the storm system moves out of the state at that time. This should hold readings down into the 40s and 50s on Monday with the amount of cloudiness around. Tuesday will bring sunshine back to the state with readings in the 40s and lower 50s across the state. We should see the same temperatures on Wednesday, however there will be a few more clouds across the southern counties with a storm system that will be just bypassing the state to our south. Another storm will be moving into the state toward the end of the week with chances of showers and thunderstorms at that time.

FARTHER ALONG: As we look further into the extended period, temperatures are shown to be above seasonal levels through the middle of the month with mainly quiet weather around. The quiet pattern is shown to continue through the end of the period with only a chance of precipitation possible at the end of the period around the 21st of the month. No real trends developing at this time, so our confidence is low.
