No Warmth Like Sunday, Upcoming

Some rainy weather today and tomorrow across the state followed by cooler weather through the end of the week and into the weekend. We won’t be seeing the temperatures we saw on Sunday any time in the next seven days that’s for sure.

The shower activity today and tomorrow will be with a system coming through the state. We could see a rumble of thunder with the activity but severe weather is unlikely at this time. Highs today will be in the 40s east to the lower and middle 60s west. Wednesday’s temperatures will be mainly in the 50s. As mentioned earlier, cooler weather will come to end the week with 40s and 50s for highs Thursday through Saturday across the state. The coolest readings will be across the northeastern counties of the state while the warmest will be in the southwest. It will warm up again on Sunday as winds switch out of the south and become breezy as well. Highs from the 50s northeast to near 70 southwest will be possible, although these readings could be bumped up dependent on low dew points and stronger winds out of the south (similar to what we had last Sunday). However a system will be coming through Sunday night into Monday with a chance of some rain at that time. We’ll be watching this over the next few days.

The extended period shows readings fairly close to seasonal levels for the middle of April with mainly quiet conditions around until the 16th or so when readings look to warm up and the weather pattern becomes a bit more active across the area with chances of showers and thunderstorms. Of course timing and strength of any said system that far out is less than 50/50 so we’ll have to keep an eye on the models for any trends or changes as we get closer.

NOTE: Sorry for anyone that might have been waiting for this report earlier this morning. I was in the emergency room for several hours yesterday afternoon and decided that resting was a good call than trying to do a report last night. I regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
