The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is monitoring portions of northeastern Kansas, southeastern Nebraska, northwestern/western Missouri, and southwestern Iowa for a potential Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Watch before 5:00 p.m. They place the probability of a watch being issued at 40 percent.
If thunderstorms can form ahead of the cold front and surface low moving into the area, a risk of severe thunderstorms will exist with large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado all possible.
