After a day of active weather full of scattered showers, sleet, and snow across the state impacting travel with temperatures in the upper 20s to upper 40s, warmer and duller weather is on tap for the early part of next week. Temperatures by Tuesday will be in the 50s to 70s across the state, back to the overall springtime normals around the region. However, active weather will return around that time as well. Showers and thunderstorms will begin overspreading the area Tuesday night and continuing through Thursday. The heaviest of this activity will be across the north.
A bit of a messier situation comes Wednesday night when some accumulating snow will be possible amongst other precipitation types. Snow will still be possible through the early morning commute Thursday before things warm-up, though light rain chances remain through much of Thursday. All of this will have to be refined in later forecasts, so make sure to check back for that. All-in-all, this continues the up-and-down trend of Iowa weather that we have been experiencing as of late. Gotta love Iowa.
Enjoy your Sunday!
