UP THE HILL: A few early morning snow showers in our northeastern counties will give way to some partial sunshine by the afternoon hours. The rest of the state should see sunshine all day. Highs will range from the upper 20s northeast to the lower 40s southwest. More sunshine and warmer temperatures will be on tap for Thursday with readings in the 30s and 40s across the state.
DROPPING LIKE A ROCK: A storm will skirt the state late Thursday night and Friday with a chance of some rain and snow. Accumulations and amounts look to be rather light at this time, but the main story will be the temperatures taking a tumble back to the bitter cold as we head into the weekend. Highs this weekend will be in the upper single digits though the teens with lows at or below zero once again. This will last into the beginning of next week as well before winds turn around out of the south on Tuesday.
LOOKING FORWARD: Looking at what the GFS says in the extended period, it has a system skirting the state toward the middle of next week which could bring a slight chance of some snow at that time. Further ahead another system is shown around the 24th-26th that could bring some interesting weather to the area followed by another plunge of Arctic air (JOY!). Temperatures look to moderate as we near the end of the month.
