NO Video Today
NOT MUCH HAPPENING: The warm temperatures are expected to last through the weekend and into next week with only a slight chance of a rain or snow shower late Saturday night into Sunday being the only fly in the ointment. Highs today will be in the upper 30s in the northwestern counties where snow is still on the ground to the 40s and lower 50s elsewhere with mainly sunny skies. We will see some fog during the morning hours. This will be the case as well Saturday morning as well with mostly sunny skies around. We will see an increase in cloudiness by late in the day with that weak disturbance moving through Saturday night into Sunday, however the precipitation that may fall with that system will be very sparse and light. Heading into next week it looks warm and dry once again with southerly winds and temperatures in the 40s and lower 50s for highs.
BIG TEN TITLE: For those that are heading to the Big Ten Football Championship in Indianapolis this weekend, there will be no issues driving down there and no issues there this weekend. Highs today will be in the upper 40s and Saturday will have plenty of sunshine with highs in the lower to middle 50s. Sunday will be the same story as well on the drive back with only a few clouds possible coming back with the system mentioned before with a slight chance of some precipitation.
LOOKING TOWARD THE YULETIDE: As we head toward the end of next week and the following weekend, the GFS continues to indicate a storm system moving in from the west that could bring us some rain then snow across the state. It’s too early to determine amounts at this time but it is something we’ll continue to monitor through the weekend into early next week. This will bring much cooler weather into the state following the passage of the system which should drop readings back to seasonal levels for highs if not a few degrees below that. Looking further ahead, the weather pattern is colder with only a few glancing systems moving nearby. The end of the period on the 19th has a system moving across Missouri that could bring some snow to the state however this is just model data at this point.
