WARMING UP: Sunshine will be around for several days with a few clouds from time to time. It will remain dry through the end of the week and the weekend. Temperatures will be on the rise as we move forward with readings today getting up into the 30s through the lower and middle 40s. The snowpack areas will be cooler as expected, but should be warm enough that the snow will melt. This could cause some refreezing in areas overnight when temperatures drop back down so be wary of that. Heading into Friday, we’ll see some breezy conditions out of the south with temperatures heading into the 40s and even a few lower 50s in the southern counties of the state. Some areas of fog will be possible in the northern and northwestern counties due to the snowmelt during the morning hours. A weak front will move through late Saturday into early on Sunday but with little if any moisture with it so some clouds are possible with some slightly cooler readings especially on Sunday but even then readings in the 30s and 40s are possible.
INTO NEXT WEEK: The southerly winds return heading into Monday and Tuesday of next week and with that temperatures will be back into the 40s to around 50 once again. Skies will be mainly sunny during this time. The winds begin to increase out of the west then the southwest as we head into Wednesday and Thursday ahead of a big system that looks to move into the state by next Friday or so. This will keep temperatures above average at least through next week.
AND THEN: As we move into the middle of December, the weather pattern takes a turn with the storm system mentioned in the last paragraph moving in next Friday with some rain developing ahead of the system at that time. This looks to last into the following weekend with colder air coming in late on Saturday (12th) where the precipitation will changeover to all snow from west to east. It’s too early to determine much at this time, but we have seen this on several runs over the last few days so this is a storm that we’ll continue to monitor for the next several days. The rest of the period is shown as seasonal to a bit below seasonal levels with regards to temperatures with mainly dry conditions outside a brief snow chance on Monday the 14th. Enjoy the warm temperatures because winter is not far from making a return.
