Some Melting Today and Tomorrow

THANKS FOR MELTING THE SNOW: Warmer temperatures are heading our way today and Wednesday ahead of a new storm system that could bring us some rain with a bit of wintry precipitation to finish up during shopping time late Thanksgiving night into early on Friday morning. Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s in the snow pack areas with some lower 50s possible in the southern counties where there was no snow or the snow has already melted. The melting snow will lead to some areas of fog over the next few mornings which could cause some issues. Wednesday will be mainly cloudy with fog sticking around for most of the day along with a chance of some drizzle and light rain as we head into the afternoon hours. It will remain warm with highs in the 40s and lower to middle 50s across the state. Thanksgiving looks to be rather wet with some mixed precipitation in our northwestern counties as colder air filters in from the northwest. Highs on Thanksgiving will be in the 30s northwest to the middle 40s southeast.

WEEKEND: The weekend looks to be split between a fairly calm quiet Saturday and a wet and possibly white Sunday across the state. Highs on Saturday will be in the 30s to around 40 with plenty of sunshine around. Clouds will be on the increase again as we head into Saturday night with a chance of rain and snow moving in from the south with a system moving just to the south of the state. As we head into Sunday, the entire state should see a chance of rain and or snow. It’s too early to determine amounts at this time, but we should be able to have a better grasp on this system as we get closer to the weekend.

DECEMBER: As we look at the extended period, quiet weather is shown in the middle to end of next week with cool readings in the 30s for most of the state. The GFS has a weak disturbance moving across the state around the 5th of December with a chance of some light precipitation at that time. Thereafter temperatures look to warm a bit to seasonal or a bit above seasonal readings for the early to middle of December.
