ANOTHER DREARY DAY: More rain will be in store across the state today but it should become more scattered as we move into the afternoon hours. It will remain cloudy throughout the day with highs in the 40s and 50s across the state. We will see temperatures fall during the afternoon hours as colder air moves in from the northwest. As we head into tonight, the precipitation should come to an end but it could end as a wintry mix across our northern counties. This should not cause many issues at this time. Lows tonight will drop into the upper 20s to middle 30s across the state.
A MORE INTERESTING STORM: Thursday will be cool and dry with mainly sunny skies around and highs generally in the 40s. Another system will come sweeping in from the west on Friday and this could be in the form of a rain snow mix across the state. It’s too early to determine any possible amounts but models have indicated that any possible snow is expected to be light. We’ll watch for any changes in the next day or so. Highs on Friday will be in the upper 30s through the 40s.
WEEKEND: The weekend looks to be dry once again as sunshine returns by the morning hours on Saturday and lasting through the rest of the weekend and into next week. It will be cooler on Saturday with readings in the upper 30s through the middle 40s. Sunday should see temperatures a few degrees warmer as winds turn around out of the west and southwest by later in the day. This will continue as we head into Monday with some 50s possible at that time in our southern and southwestern counties.
NEXT WEEK: Clouds will be on the increase late Tuesday ahead of the next system that will move into the state at mid-week. This will bring a threat of precipitation to the state next Wednesday into Thursday (Thanksgiving). Temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s for highs both days. Colder air is shown moving in behind the front next Friday. There is a chance that some of the precipitation as it ends with this system could be a wintry mix or some snow next Friday but it’s still more than a week away so we’re likely to see some changes. Stay tuned.
INTO DECEMBER: As we head toward the end of November and into early December, colder than average temperatures look to be possible according to this run as we end the month of November. The flow is shown coming straight out of Canada, with some chances of flurries possible. The GFS shows the colder temperatures lasting through the end of the period with some chances of wintry precipitation, albeit light as we head into the first few days of December. It’ll really start looking a lot like Christmas then, but for now we’ll just have to wait and see.
