CALM AND QUIET: It will be a stretch of sunshine and quiet weather at least through Sunday with cool readings on Friday before warming back up to the 50s and lower 60s on Saturday and Sunday. Highs today across the state will be in the 40s north to lower and middle 50s south with sunny skies. Winds will back around to the south and southwest this weekend which will help boost readings above seasonal levels this weekend.
A RATHER ACTIVE TIME AHEAD: The next storm system looks to move into the state late Sunday night or early Monday morning. This is going to bring us a chance of some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm through early on Thursday. This will be a slow moving storm and whereas we don’t think we’ll be getting rain the whole time, the chances are certainly there nevertheless. There is still some uncertainty with this system that we should be able to fine tune by this weekend. Cooler temperatures look to follow behind this system as we look toward the end of the week and into the following weekend.
TURKEY TIME: Looking toward Thanksgiving, the GFS has some warm readings to start the extended period before a storm system comes in around the 24th and 25th with a chance of precipitation at that time. Some of the precipitation looks to be in the form of snow, but remember this is just model data at this point, not a true forecast as yet. Temperatures are shown to get cold as we head into Thanksgiving and Black Friday following that system. We’ve seen similar scenarios over the last few days on the GFS but still can’t pinpoint anything this far out. We’ll keep monitoring.
