Temperatures today rose back into the 70s to near 80 across the state today. Winds were lighter than on Tuesday due to a passage of a weak cold front, which is more of a wind shift line. By late in the afternoon, the front had become stalled across the central portions of the state from NE to SW. The front will begin to retreat back north tonight into tomorrow morning as a storm system begins to develop in the plains. The gusty south winds will also return, gusting to 30+ mph during the day Thursday. This is likely to lead to some danger fire levels in the state with the dry ground and lack of green vegetation. Temperatures are expected to soar back into the 70s and lower 80s statewide. There is a possibility that a few locations may jump into the mid 80s and a few records will be tested.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected late on Friday as the storm moves into the state. Severe Weather is not anticipated at this time, but some heavy rain is possible. Rain will last into Saturday, but Easter Sunday will be dry, but cooler with highs generally in the 60s.
