RAIN ON THE PUMPKIN: Skies will be a bit brighter today but it will be short lived as clouds will once again be on the increase later today ahead of a storm system moving in from the southwest. This will bring some showers across the state tonight into the first half of Saturday. As we’ve mentioned over the last few days, some lingering showers are possible in the eastern counties during Trick or Treat time but it should not be a big hindrance at this time. Highs today will get into the 50s as will be the case on Saturday as well. Rainfall amounts will generally be under a half inch with most places seeing at least a quarter inch.

WARMING UP: Temperatures will be back into the 60s as we head into next week with mostly sunny skies around through Wednesday. It will be quite breezy as we get toward the middle of the week ahead of the next storm system that looks to make it into the state Thursday and Friday. Winds are likely to be around 10-20mph with some higher gusts.

FURTHER ALONG: As we head into the extended period, the storm mentioned prior is shown to exit the state by next Saturday. Temperatures will drop back to seasonal levels in the lower and middle 50s by next Sunday as high pressure moves in. The GFS has a weak disturbance moving through around the 9th with a slight chance of precipitation with it, however much cooler air comes in behind that system which looks to drop readings at least into the 40s for highs and lows close to or below freezing around Veterans Day. The GFS is also showing a vigorous system around the 13th and 14th with a chance of precipitation at that time as well. This is a system that would need to be watched over the coming days, however confidence is rather low at this time with regards to timing and strength of said system at this time.
