Today: It will be a sunny, warm, and windy day across Iowa with strong southerly winds of 15-20 MPH with gusts to 30. Highs will range from the low 80’s across Eastern Iowa to near 90 in Western Iowa. A few record high temperatures will likely fall across the western portion of Iowa today. With the windy and dry conditions the fire danger will be elevated across the state.
Tonight: Temps will remain mild overnight, with lows expected to fall to the mid 50’s. It will remain breezy as well.
Tomorrow: Monday a cool front will pass through the region, but with a lack of moisture the front will pass dry. The front will usher in cooler weather and very windy conditions with highs in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s across the state. Winds will gust up to 40MPH across the northern portions of Iowa. Elevated fire conditions will continue for Monday so hold off on any open burning until later in the week.
Tomorrow night: Monday night will be mostly clear and breezy with lows in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s.
Extended Outlook: Dry and mild conditions will persist into midweek with no major systems to impact Iowa. Highs will remain in the upper 60’s with lows in the 40’s through midweek.
