BRIEF RAIN: One more day of sunshine with temperatures in the 70s before a frontal system moves through bringing a chance of some rain and isolated thunderstorms as well. Rainfall amounts will generally be light with most places receiving a quarter inch of rain or less. We’ll have a slight cool down for Friday as skies clear once again. We should see readings in the 60s for the most part with lows in the 40s before the warmer air returns for the Columbus Day weekend with 70s once again at that time with plenty of sunshine.
INTO NEXT WEEK: Heading into next week, skies look to remain partly to mostly sunny through at least mid-week with readings in the 60s and 70s for the most part with lows in the 40s and lower 50s. Most of the precipitation chances remain well to the north of the state at this time. We’ll keep watching to see if anything changes in the coming days.
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking into the extended period, temperatures stay close to seasonal levels if not slightly above them as we head toward the end of next week. It remains dry through Friday of next week before another system is shown to move in with a chance of rain for the following weekend (17th and 18th). The model is showing a surge of cold air toward the end of the period which could see us get our first freeze of the year, however this is a new solution that we’ve not seen as yet so we’ll have to keep watching for trends for the next few runs.
