RAIN COMING THURSDAY: A few days of warmer temperatures will greet us ahead of a system that will bring a chance of a few showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm as well. Before then, skies will be partly sunny for the most part with readings well into the 70s today and Wednesday. The storm system will move in Wednesday night into Thursday with that chance of precipitation. At this time, the amounts will be light with most places receiving a quarter of an inch with some isolated heavier totals in areas that get thunderstorms. Temperatures behind the front look to drop back into the 60s to near 70 for highs with lows down into the 40s Friday night.
WEEKEND: Winds will be back out of the southwest as we head into the weekend which looks to boost our readings back into the 70s once again. It will remain partly to mostly sunny through the weekend with the chances of any precipitation stay well to the north of the state at this time.
NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: As we head into next week, it looks to remain calm Monday and Tuesday of next week with readings remaining in the 70s for the most part. Further along, the rest of the week looks quiet with temperatures moderating downward toward seasonal levels in the 60s toward the end of the week. The GFS has a system moving through the state around the 17th with a chance of some precipitation at that time, otherwise it looks dry for the most part through the end of the period. Temperatures for the most part look to be close to seasonal levels with some brief cool spells mixed in. We’ll keep watching for any changes or trends that may develop in the coming days.
