BACK TO NORMAL: Another day of some showers and thunderstorms across the state today. We may see some breaks in the clouds in our northwestern counties by the afternoon hours. Highs today will be held down due to the chance of rain with 70s and lower 80s possible. The rain will move out of the state tonight into Wednesday morning with sunshine returning at that time. Readings will be in the 70s to around 80. Another disturbance looks to move in late Wednesday night into Thursday with a slight chance of a shower or storm, but some places may get by with little or no precipitation. As we head toward the end of the week and into the weekend, there will be mostly sunny skies around with readings in the upper 60s through the 70s for highs with lows in the upper 40s through the 50s.
NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: Heading into next week and the extended period, another storm will approach the state next Tuesday into Wednesday with showers and storms possible. Temperatures will warm slightly ahead of the front on Monday with readings well into the 70s and possibly near 80. Colder air will follow behind the front with readings likely dropping into the 60s and lower to middle 70s for highs next Wednesday into Thursday. Further out, the GFS has another storm moving through around the 20th through the 22nd with showers and thunderstorms at that time. Temperatures are shown to start out below seasonal levels toward the end of next week with them moderating ahead of the aforementioned system later on. Readings are shown to cool below seasonal levels once again toward the end of the period as well. We’ll see if this continues on future model runs.
