Iowa Weather Report August 25th 2015: Cool Sunshine

PLEASANT WEATHER: More sunshine and cool temperatures will continue across the state through Thursday before another storms moves in late Thursday through the day on Friday into Saturday with some showers and isolated thunderstorms possible at that time. Until then, we’ll see mainly sunny skies with highs in the 70s and lower 80s with readings increasing a degree or two each day. Lows will be in the 40s and lower 50s to start before seeing lower and middle 50s by the end of the week. The rain late this week into the first part of the weekend could bring decent rainfall amounts but not everybody may get in on the rainfall. We’ll have to wait and see.

INTO NEXT WEEK: The last half of the weekend into the beginning of next week will be dry once more with only a slight chance of some precipitation Tuesday in the northwestern counties of the state. It will be a bit warmer early next week with southerly and southwesterly winds. Temperatures in the 70s and 80s will be possible at that time.

SEEING INTO SEPTEMBER: Looking farther into the month of September, the GFS is showing the weather pattern becoming a bit more active as we look toward Labor Day weekend. Chances of showers and a few thunderstorms are seen throughout the holiday weekend with some dry periods intermixed in as well. There is still plenty of time to watch for any changes and or trends to develop so there’s no need to cancel any outdoor plans. Readings look to be close to seasonal levels for the most part.
