Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Northeast and North Central Iowa until 4:00 a.m.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch #407 has been issued to replace Tornado Watch #406, effective until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for much of northeast and north central Iowa, including the following counties: Allamakee, Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winnebago, Winneshiek, and Worth.

Threats Include:

  • Scattered Damaging Winds and Isolated Significant Gusts to 80 MPH Possible
  • Isolated Very Large Hail Events to Two Inches in Diameter Possible
  • A Tornado or Two Possible

Summary: Severe complex of thunderstorms will proceed southeastward across the watch area on either side of a wide-defined front, offering mainly damaging wind gusts.
