The snow has ended across most of the state late this evening. Only a few scattered flurries or light snow showers are to be expected the rest of the night. Winds are still a problem, mainly in open rural areas of the state. I-29 is still closed from Sioux City southward to Onawa with no travel being advised further south of I-680 south of Missouri Valley. Most of the roads in the western part of the state are either mostly or completely covered in snow or ice. Travel is not recommended until at least tomorrow morning in those areas. Further to the east, where less snow fell, the road conditions are anywhere from normal or wet to partly covered. That is only true in the case of the mainly traveled roads, the side streets and rural roads are likely to have a little dusting of snow on them by tomorrow morning, which could make the commute a bit hazardous, but not overly so. The best thing is that there is likely to be no snow in the forecast for several days until possibly Friday when a storm system will be pushing just to the south of the state and may swipe the southernmost counties (mainly south of I-80) with a bit of light snow or flurries.
