Snow Mainly Western Half

Some light to at times moderate snow has moved into the NW part of the state this afternoon. This is where the main accumulations will take place this afternoon into this evening before it moves SE into the central portions of the state. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued in NW Iowa later tonight for the accumulating snow. The extreme eastern part of the state is seeing some sunshine, but temperatures are in the upper teens and lower to middle 20s after a morning of dense fog. The snow will move across the SW half of the state where 1-3 inches of snow will be possible by Sunday. Some light snow is expected elsewhere through late Sunday night where a dusting to an inch of snow will be possible. Drier air will move into the state by Monday which is expected to last for the rest of the upcoming week. Readings will remain the in the 20s to around 30 with lows in the teens to around 20.
