The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is monitoring central and eastern South Dakota, southeastern North Dakota, southwestern Minnesota, and northwestern Iowa for a potential severe thunderstorm or tornado watch over the next several hours. Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon with large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes all possible. Some storms are beginning to fire in that area and with peak heating occurring, some instability may enter the area.
