QUIET TIME: It will remain quiet at least today and for most of tomorrow as well across the state. Partly to Mostly Sunny skies will be around, however readings today will still be several degrees below average with readings in the 50s and 60s for highs. Wednesday should see the temperatures a couple of degrees warmer with some 60s and lower 70s for the most part.
ACTIVE WEATHER RETURNS: The next bout of stormy weather returns late tomorrow night and especially as we head into Thursday through the upcoming weekend and possibly into early next week as well. This will be similar to what we had last week with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with some breaks in between the rain chances. This will not be all day rains by any means and some places could get some peaks of sunshine, but that will be few and far between for the most part. Highs during the period will be in the 60s and 70s with higher readings possible if we see more sunshine around than what is currently being forecast. Severe weather is possible mainly this weekend, however there are still a lot of variables that will need to come together before we set that in stone. There will be a lot of rainfall toward the end of the week and into the weekend and some minor flooding could be possible given the amount of rainfall we received last week across the state. We’ll watch for any developments on that and the possible severe weather threat in the coming days.
LOOKING TOWARD THE HOLIDAY: As we look into the extended period which takes us through Memorial Day Weekend, the weather starts out cool and dry next Tuesday and Wednesday before the weather pattern looks to turn active once again during the Memorial Day Weekend Holiday. At this point, the GFS is showing a repeat of what we saw last week and what is forecast to occur this week with numerous rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible Thursday through Sunday (21st-24th) with some breaks in between. Of course this is still about 10 days out and may change so don’t cancel any plans. The weather turns quieter toward the end of the period with perhaps a storm chance on the 27th.
