QUIET AND COOLER: Finally there will be some quiet weather for a change for a few days across the state. It will be cooler today with highs in the upper 40s in the northwestern counties to the upper 60s in the eastern counties with mostly cloudy skies. There will be more sunshine in our southern counties than in the north due to the low pressure center that brought the scattered storms of last night moves off to the north and northeast and will bring some wrap-around clouds across the northern counties of the state. Tuesday should see more sunshine across the entire state with readings mainly in the 60s. Most of Wednesday will be dry as well with clouds on the increase by late in the day as the next system approaches from the west by the evening hours.
ACTIVE WEATHER RERUN: As we head into the later part of the week and into the weekend, showers and thunderstorms will return to the state with several rounds possible. There will be some dry time involved as well with some peaks of sunshine as well. Readings will be in the 70s across the state but could be cooler depending on the amount of clouds and rain that may stick around longer during the daylight hours. It’s too early to determine severe weather risks at this time, but we’ll keep watching it for you in the coming days.
FARTHER ALONG: As we look into the extended period, the weather pattern still looks active as we near the Memorial Day Weekend Holiday with some threats of showers and thunderstorms possible. Temperatures at this point looks to be fairly close to seasonal levels at this point with possibly some cooler weather toward the end of the period. We’ll watch for any trends and or changes as we draw closer to the holiday weekend. Don’t cancel or change any plans yet.
