Rain Pushing Eastward

This afternoon, a batch of light to moderate rain is moving through the central and eastern portions of the state. Amounts up to a half inch will be possible with this rain as it moves to the east. Some isolated claps of thunder could be possible as well. It has dried out in the western part of the state with only clouds and some light mist. Temperatures this afternoon are well above freezing with mid 30s to mid 40s common. The slug of rain that is moving through the state this afternoon will move out this evening, leaving behind some light drizzle and fog across the state. Readings will only drop into the lower to middle 30s tonight. Sunday will see a switch in the winds to the west and temperatures beginning to drop back toward average. A few scattered flurries or light showers will be possible at that time. Another chance of some light snow will move in on Monday, with only light accumulations possible. Into next week, colder weather will return to the state along with sunshine. Highs will generally be in the upper teens and 20s with lows in the upper single digits and teens.
