Rain continues in the western part of the state very early this morning. It is mixing with some sleet and freezing rain in the far northern part of the state where temperatures are still at or slightly below the freezing mark. Warm south to southeasterly winds are contributing to temperatures rising across the state. Readings are mostly in the mid to upper 30s, with only the far north as mentioned before at or below freezing. There is a freezing rain advisory in those locations until Noon today.
The rain today will be heavy at times, especially if a thunderstorm moves through. This could lead to some urban flooding where drains may be blocked by ice and snow. This may also lead to some flooding on local creeks and streams as well. The main batch of precipitation will move out of the state late Saturday night with only a slight chance of some rain snow mix on Sunday before a better chance of some light snow or flurries on Monday.
