Freezing drizzle continues in the state early this morning, coating surfaces with a glaze of ice once more. Roads continue to have icy patches so if travelling be very cautious of any slight glazing that may be on the roads from the drizzle that is continuing to occur. The freezing drizzle will continue through most of the morning hours today and will likely end early this afternoon, before the next storm moves in for the weekend. The weekend storm will start out with rain and possibly a thunderstorm with the precipitation changing over to snow Sunday and lasting into the early part of next week. Colder weather will return with highs in the teens and 20s by the middle of next week.
Also of note, a Dense Fog advisory has been issued in southern Iowa until tomorrow morning, like areas that are receiving freezing drizzle, roads here may also be slippery due to temperatures being at or slightly below freezing.
