The First Two Weeks

Here is a chart of the temperature departures over the first two weeks of the year through Thursday. With the exception of Dubuque, the rest of the state is roughly 10-15 degrees below the seasonal average of the first two weeks of the year. The numbers have come up substantially with the recent January thaw that is currently taking place. Estherville is the only location still with the average mean temperature below zero. Numerous other locations still have average lows below zero. With the continued thaw and warmer weather lasting into the next week, the mean temperatures will continue slowly rising closer to “average”
