BRIGHT AND SUNNY: The weather still remains quiet around the state through at least Thursday with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Some cooler air moving across the Great Lakes on Thursday may lower readings a few degrees in the eastern counties for highs at that time.
SOME WEEKEND RAIN: A new system looks to move into the state on Friday which may bring us a slight chance of some showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder or two. The chances don’t look too high at this time but we’ll keep watch nevertheless. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s through the weekend. Another chance of rain looks to come in on Sunday with the rain looking to last into the early morning hours of Monday. This chance looks to be the best of the next week. Severe weather is not expected at this time with either system.
MORE ACTIVITY: As we look into the extended period, the GFS is still hinting at more active weather as we head into the middle and end of next week. This GFS run has chance of precipitation beginning next Wednesday (6th) last through the 9th or so with some chances of showers and thunderstorms at that time. There is a short break before more activity possibly comes in around the 13th. The trend has been for May to be more active and that is still continuing on this model run. However things can still change so stay tuned.
