WEEKEND: This weekend will bring some sunshine today and some rain with some wintry mix early on Sunday. Today skies will be mainly sunny with a few clouds with readings in the upper 30s northeast to the lower 50s in the western counties of the state. Heading into Sunday, a storm system will move into the state late Saturday night into Sunday with a chance of rain with some wintry mix possible during the overnight and early morning hours before changing over to all rain. Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 40s northeast to the lower 60s in the western counties.
INTO NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will be on the way up as we head into next week with temperatures heading into the 50s and 60s. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny on Monday and Tuesday. The next system will move in Wednesday into early on Thursday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. This will also bring some decent rainfall amounts, but it’s too early to determine those at this time. It’s also too early to determine any severe weather risk at this time, although the chances appear to be minimal. The rest of the week temperatures will drop back to near seasonal levels with another slight chance of precipitation by next Saturday.
LOOKING FORWARD: Going farther out into April, the GFS has a rather large system moving through the area around the 5th and 6th with a chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. Temperatures look to turn cooler again for a time before another system begins to take shape as we head toward the end of the period. Timing these systems out is still up in the air, but the weather pattern still looks rather active for the next week or two.
