Here will be the final update on the storm. The low is finally beginning its move out of the state. At Midday, the low was centered over SE Iowa moving east out of the state. Some light to at times moderate snow continues over SE Iowa and extreme western Iowa. Another inch or two of snow will be possible through this evening, but many locations will receive less than that. Road conditions aren’t very good in western Iowa, with “Travel not Advised” on many roads in western and southwestern Iowa. US Hwy 6 west of Atlantic and US Hwy 275 in SW Iowa remains closed at this time.
A few days of quieter weather will move in, with only a few flurries or light snow showers possible tomorrow with the departing storm, followed by some full sunshine Monday and Tuesday. A quick moving storm system will move into the state Wednesday, dropping another inch or two of snow before moving out. Another blast of arctic air will come southward to end the year.
