A big congratulations out to Newell-Fonda tonight who will be advancing to the class 1A state championship! Also congratulations out to class 4A participants Bishop Heelan and Western Dubuque and class 5A teams Western Des Moines Valley, Iowa City West, Dowling Catholic, and Waukee who will be advancing to the semifinal round.

We will be having to sit through another c0ld day today with temperatures peaking out in the lower 20s. Clear to sunny skies will prevail across the area and while winds will be light at 5-15 MPH, wind chills will still likely be in the single digits, so make sure to bundle up. Warmer weather is on the way for Friday through next week with 50s and 60s likely by next Friday.

A number of great games will be watched today with 14 teams, including five undefeated’s, playing for a spot in the IGHSAU state championships. Make sure to go and support your local teams or simply enjoy a great day of basketball at Wells Fargo Arena.
