Currently, over 5000 customers of Alliant Energy in the state have no power. About 1600 Mid-American Energy customers in the state have no power as well. Many of the advisories, watches and warnings that were indicated in the earlier post this morning are still in effect. Some light freezing rain is currently moving through the center of the state, mainly along the I-80 corridor. Temperatures south of I-80 have risen above freezing, so most of the precipitation there will fall in the form of rain, with the mix between I-80 and US Hwy 20. Snow will break out in far northern Iowa into NW Iowa later this afternoon and tonight.
