Today was a beautiful day across Iowa, warm air surged in from the south on day 2 of our warm up raising temperatures into the mid to upper 40s. What was impressive is that these temperatures were reached even with an extensive snow cover that dwindled quite a bit today. I had grass showing in a few spots by the end of today and 2 days ago I had a foot of snow on the ground. We lost at least several inches of snow. The warmest temperatures were seen in the far southeastern part of Iowa, where 50s were reached. Northeastern Iowa stayed in the upper 30s with more clouds. Just out of our reach in snowless parts of Northern Missouri temperatures were as warm as the upper 60s to near 70!
