The second clipper to affect the state in two days is moving through the southern counties this morning and has brought 2-4″ inches of snow to these areas with some approaching 5″. This had led to some completely covered roads in these areas as well. Several counties are under Tow Bans once more including, Harrison, Monona, Jasper, Story, Polk, Dallas, Warren, Clarke and Decatur. Travel will be hazardous in these areas through the rest of the day and if you do have to be out, be sure to take it slow. The snow will be moving out of the state later this afternoon and this evening before bitterly cold temperatures follow later tonight. Best advice would be not to travel until tomorrow morning if you don’t have to be out as temperatures will fall well below zero in many areas and roads may still be partially or completely covered in some areas of southern Iowa.
