Chances Dropping on Christmas Week Snow?

Midnight Christmas Day

Above is the GFS 0z model run on Christmas Day at Midnight. This shows the storm that has been forecasted to effect the state, moving across the Ohio River Valley and the Deep South. This run along with the 18z run last night are moving more toward little if any snow for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. However, other models are still showing that the storm will still effect the state with possible heavy snow, things can still change over the weekend, but for right now, there may only be a few flurries or light snow showers both days or a major snowstorm right before Christmas.

Both runs also show a large storm will effect the state the following week right before New Years. The 0z run has this storm much stronger, and effecting the state much more than the previous 18z run had. This storm will need to be monitored for any changes in strength or movement. Also the latest run shows another possible arctic outbreak coming by early January 2010. Temperatures could drop well below zero if this were to pan out, but this is pure voodoo at this point.
