Blizzard of 2009: Blizzard Conditions

This morning, winds have been gusting up to and over 50mph throughout most of the state. Temperatures are continuing to drop across the state. Readings are in the single digits in NW Iowa, with wind chills dropping to -20. Snow continues to fall lightly across the state, but the blowing snow is the main problem.

Numerous roads are closed due to the blizzard.
US Hwy 6 from Council Bluffs to Oakland and from Anita to Atlantic
US 71 from I-80 to IA Hwy 141
US 169 from Minburn to Ogden
IA Hwy 4 from Panora to Bagley
IA Hwy 17 from Granger to Madrid
IA Hwy 44 from US 71 to Guthrie Center
IA Hwy 48 from Griswold to Lewis
IA Hwy 144 from Perry to Rippey

These Roads are listed as Closed on the DOT Website as well
Also Interstate 80 from Exit 141 to 159 and exit 173 to exit 191
US Hwy 30 from Colo to Marshalltown
Interstate 35 from north of Ankeny to Ames
