Temperatures today have been in the 40s and 50s, with sunny skies. This is forecast to continue tomorrow as well, with some locations possibly hitting 60 in southern Iowa. Tomorrow also begins meteorological winter as well as the month of December. Colder weather will swarm over the state later this week, with some chances of light snow and or flurries later this week. Highs will drop into the lower to middle 30s (typical of early December), with lows dropping into the teens and lower 20s. There shouldn’t be any significant accumulations of snow this week. Current Model runs show the first two weeks of December look to be very active across the midwest, with several storm systems moving through. Temperatures are likely to remain at or below average during that time as well. This of course will change as we draw closer.
