The northwestern half of the state has seen sunshine for most of the afternoon, while the southeastern half has seen clouds with a few scattered showers. Currently, showers are continuing in SE and SC Iowa. The rain is moving to the SW. More rain is forecast tonight in a scattered fashion mainly in the same areas that are currently under cloudy skies, while skies will remain clear to partly cloudy elsewhere. Rainfall has been heavy in SE Iowa with amounts of 1-2 inches since yesterday. This storm system will begin to move away on Wednesday and some dry weather will be in store through the upcoming weekend.
