What farmers did not want to see is more heavy rain. Many locations around the state have seen at least 1/2 inch of rain so far, with a few places already over 1 inch. The big winner thus far is Ames where 2.04 inches of rain has fallen since Midnight. Currently early this afternoon, rain, heavy at times continues scattered across the state with the main concentration being in the eastern part of the state. A few claps of thunder can’t be ruled out with any of the showers. The rain will continue into tonight and the first part of Friday before the state dries out. A Flash flood watch has been issued in Central Iowa which begins shortly and lasts until 7am Friday morning. This includes, Adair, Adams, Appanoose, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Clarke, Dallas, Davis, Decatur, Franklin, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Polk, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Story, Tama, Taylor, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne counties.
