Here is a chart of the rainfall amounts for today through early afternoon. With the rain that fell yesterday (which isn’t included in the chart), numerous locations have recieved 1-2 inches of rain so far with more to come. At early afternoon, most of the state was covered in light to moderate rain. Another inch of rain is possible before the rain is set to end on Friday. Flooding will not be a concern, however some drains that are clogged with newly fallen leaves could cause some isolated urban flooding.
Temperatures have tumbled from the 60s and 70s of yesterday into the 40s and lower 50s. A brisk ENE wind will switch to the north and eventually NW as a low pressure system moves through Missouri into Illinois tonight through Friday. Cool weather will continue through the weekend into next week with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
There is likely to be a lot of sloppy fields across the state for High School Football tomorrow night. A report on that will be forthcoming.
