A BIT OF SNOW: Another system will move in from the northwest late tonight into the day on Wednesday with a chance of some light snow across the state. This system will bring about 1-3” across the state with the heaviest accumulations likely to be over the northern counties of the state. Meanwhile today, clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon hours ahead of this system. Highs in the 20s and 30s with partly to mostly sunny skies. Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 20s through the 30s. Thanksgiving will be dry and cooler across the state with readings likely in the 20s to around 30 across the state.
BLACK FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: A warm front will move through the state early on Friday. This may trigger an isolated snow shower or flurry across the area, but this should amount to much. During the day Friday and Saturday, highs will be in the 30s and 40s. A cold front will move back through on Sunday that may also bring with it some isolated snow showers but the main story will be the temperatures dropping back into the 20s and 30s as we head into December.
EXTENDING INTO DECEMBER: The GFS continues showing a significant storm around the 2nd and 3rd of December which could bring some decent precipitation to the state. It’s too early to determine the precipitation type, but this will be something we’ll monitor as we move forward. Thereafter some shots of cold air will be followed by some warmer days through the end of the period. However the timing could change along with several other things. Confidence in the extended period past the storm early next week is low.
